Training Squadron

In 2002 the JG 72 "Westfalen" was disbanded.
Because of the former duty of preparing the new F-4 F pilots for flying in the
very different conditions in Europe the Wing was activated as FLZ F-4F with one Squadron as a
Instruction Center for new F-4 F Pilots.
This task will last as long as the F-4 F is active in the German Air Force
and new pilots were trained to fly this old aircraft.
When the first Eurofighter were phased in, this task was no longer
necessary and with the end of the Year 2005, there was also the end of the FLZ F-4F.
