1.Squadron | JaboG 49 | 2.Squadron |
History : |
On 01.10.1978 the WaSLw 50 was reformed as JaboG 49. Beneath the duty as Fighterbomber Wing, this unit has also the duty as Training Unit for Basic Flying. After more than 200.000 flying hours with the Fiat G.91 the unit got the new Alpha Jet. In March 1980 the JaboG 49 was officially set on duty with the Alpha Jet. Until 1990 the unit has a third Squadron which was responsible for the basic training of the future Air Force Pilots. After this duty was merged with the pilot training of the Lufthansa in 1990, the P.149 D was phased out. After the German reunification and the resulting defence cuts, the Wing was disbanded in 1994. |
