History : |
As a part of the Weaponschool 50, the new AG 52 was activated on 12.12.1959 at Erding AFB. At the end of 1960 the wing moved with his RF-84 F to Eggebeck AFB, were in August 1963 the wing was assigned as a NATO-Wing. Together with the new aircraft, the RF-104 G, the wing moved in 1964 to the Leck AFB. Between 1971 and 1972 the aircraft was changed again. The new RF-4E was a true all-weather-aircraft and the possibilities of the AG 52 were greatly improved with this aircraft. With the cutdowns, which followed the German Reunification, the Wing was disbanded on 15.12.1993. Only the Patch was transferred to the newly formed Tornado Recce Wing AG 51. |
